Just wanted to say Hello to Trev. I missed you at Leuchars as I had to leave early. You would have been too high and too fast for a chat anyway! Feel free to look me up if you're even in the area. What next, another driving job or just being the husband of a best selleing author?

We frequently see graceful fly pasts of what we believe to be Hercules through the valley in which Bath lies. Is this part of your training schedule? Would love to know why you fly so close to the ground!

Thank you all for your kind comments. With regards 47/70 and a K display at the moment there is a shortage availability of K airframes. Also, it would be difficult to justify to the taxpayer/treasury having two aircraft away on the display circuit when we are so busy elsewhere in the world!

Thanks for your comments. I wasn't actually at the display but from what I have been told it was due to a generator failure that the crew carried out a precautionary shutdown. There's more in the NEWS section...

Been to both days of the Open Days of the Dutch Airforce, loved the show and good to see a show for once where you can see actual operations as they are performed in the field.

Hi Liam, Thanks for your comments. WSOs work aboard the Herc K model but not the J, which has a crew of 3 (Pilot, Co-pilot and Air Load Master). This is because the advanced technology of the J removes the need for 2 extra people on the aircraft (WSO/Nav and Air Engineer).

Hi, I really think that the Hercules is an incredible aircraft and saw it at Biggin Hill. I plan to become a weapon systems officer in the RAF. Do they work on board the Hercules?

Hi, it wasn't the display team as we have only done Duxford, Southend and Biggin Hill so far this year although it may have been the RAF Falcons parachute team aircraft.

Hello Did you display the hercules at the RAF Coningsby Families Day on May 20th bcus i missed the display but saw a hercules on the tarmac throughout most of the day.

Thanks Christian. It was the same aircraft but partly a different crew as you need to a separate flying qualification to drop the Falcons, so there are only certain pilots available for the job. Cheers, Mark
