23rd June sees the launch of ‘Faces from the Blue’ calendar

On Thursday 23rd June Jon Johnston and Sarah Pepper held a launch reception at the AAM Duxford,Cambridgeshire, for their much awaited pilot calendar in aid of two well-known aviationoriented charities – The Mark Hanna Surgical Research Fellowship, Blond McIndoe Centre, which treats burns victims, and Flying Scholarships for the Disabled. This eagerly anticipated event was well attended by both press and pilots alike.

There were also representatives from IWC, the Swiss pilot watch manufacturers who generously sponsored the production of the calendar, along with Payne and Gunter and Aerojumbles UK, without which support the project would have been impossible to achieve. This newsletter has been assembled to bring you a glimpse of this event. A group of the pilots who kindly agreed to appear in the calendar. As you may already be aware, the ‘Faces from the Blue’ calendars have been produced as an individually numbered limited edition of 2000 copies. On the evening in question, the first numbered calendar, 0001 was put up for auction and raised the very respectable sum of £350.00. Even more generously the buyer, Bob Hall, donated the calendar to Blond McIndoe Centre.

The evening went with a swing and, as mentioned earlier, was very well attended. It was a pretty star-studded
line up! Below, and on the following pages we have reproduced some of the photos taken at the launch- you may even see yourself if you attended on the day!
Each picture tells its own story and we hope that you enjoy browsing through the photos taken on the night.
The calendars are now available for purchase, either at airshows or by post and e-mail. On the final page of this Web Site you can find any information you may need to purchase one of the limited edition for yourselves!
