Welcome…

To the official website of the
Army Air Corps Historic Aircraft Flight.

An introduction by the Officer Commanding.

The AHAF display season starts in mid April when the aircraft have been fully serviced over the winter period by our extremely experienced team of engineers. The pilots then gather for training culminating around mid May in the Flying Display being authorised by the Director of Army Aviation (DAAvn) and the Commandant of the School of Army Aviation (SAAvn).

The majority of displays take place within a relatively short distance of Middle Wallop in order to preserve flying hours. We are limited by our AHAF charter to only attend Airshows and other events within a 100 mile radius of Middle Wallop. This can, in special circumstances, be extended, as you can see from our list of venues we hope to participate in this year.

We plan to participate in over fifteen events this year ranging from a full Flying Display to Flypasts and Static Displays. Please come and visit us to see these historic aircraft in action as well as “up close” and of course meet the crews.

The Flight displays at a number of events during the season and is available to any individual or organisation as single aircraft (within the parameters of the AHAF Charter). Where possible, the team will land after a display and perform a static display, offering the opportunity for the public to obtain a closer look at these fascinating flying machines. Although the aircraft are not available for the carriage of passengers, it is possible to arrange air-to-air photographic and film opportunities as required. Potential sponsors should address any request or enquiry to:

Officer Commanding,
Army Historic Aircraft Flight (AHAF),
Middle Wallop,
SO20 8DY.

The Officer Commanding or SO2 Displays at DAAvN will be in a position to discuss sponsorship, display charges and compulsory insurance premiums with you as well as providing more detailed information on each of the aircraft types. The list of Displays – Full Flying and Static for the forthcoming season can be found by clicking here.
