Exercise Executive Stretch

A "Dirty Weekend" in the country

Have you ever seen your work colleagues caked in mud, wearing army combat clothes, having not washed for 3 days? If you haven’t here is your chance! Exercise Executive Stretch takes civilian executives on training weekends similar to those undertaken by Reservists; giving the employer the opportunity to gain an insight into the training and methods of the Volunteer Reserve Forces. Those taking part are invited to arrive on Friday evening, are briefed on the exercise and receive basic instruction on a range of subjects including map reading and first aid. They then move to a military training area where they undertake a series of tasks, tackling obstacles and evading capture.

Exercise Executive Stretch is not designed to recruit, nor is it for the super-fit. It is designed for men and women with a mixed range of abilities who would like to know more about what being a Reservist within any of the three forces entails. Participants come away with a stronger sense of their organisational, initiative and inter-personal skills. Executive stretch promotes awareness of the transferable nature of these skills and the benefits to employer and employee alike. Last, but by no means least, those taking part have enjoyed a stimulating weekend in wild and attractive countryside.

Other than a nominal charge covering administrative costs, Exercise Executive Stretch is free. Look at our RFCA map, which highlights the various RFCA regions, to find our where and when the next EES is being held.
