RFCA map and contact details
The RFCAs – Reserve Forces’ and Cadets’ Associations were first formed in 1908 to maintain
and encourage the support of the local communities and recruit the manpower required for the Reserve Forces.
This is still very much their role today although they now have a multitude of other roles too. They are
involved with the following activities:
- The Administrative support for the Army Cadet Force.
- Planning, organising and funding works projects for the Reserve Forces and Army Cadets.
- Marketing, recruiting, and local publicity for Reserves and Cadets.
- Liaising, with local employers in conjunction with NELC.

They achieve the last two of these roles in various ways including:
- Supporting & publicising NELC campaigns.
- Making use of national events & anniversaries, e.g. : Queen’s Birthday Parade, Military
Tattoos, Edinburgh Tattoo etc., to which they invite selected employers.
- Co-ordinating regional activities, such as Exercise Executive Stretch, Courage Trophy etc,
as well as organising annual receptions for selected employers in the Association’s area.
- As with the NELC PR support group, they write articles on all aspects of employer support
in local publications.
The majority of these tasks are carried out by local Employer Liaison Committees (ELC’s)
within counties and regions. These committees are made up of local businessmen and women as
well as some military staff, as with NELC, who work on a purely voluntary basis.
There are 13 RFCA areas which are shown on the map. By clicking on the area of the country
relevant to you or your organisation you will find the contact number and address of your
relevant RFCA.
