The RAF Cosford Air Display – 11 June 2006

or, the Long Weekend, Part Three!

The RAF Cosford Air Display is the largest display in the Midlands. This year proved to be no exception in terms of the crowd as the weather was clear and hot all day. Over 50,000 people attended the show in the bright sunshine and the Team had almost perfect conditions in which to fly their first air display show. The display was a real mixture of civil and military aircraft and Teams, and included the latest addition to the UK display circuit, the Blades Aerobatic Team from 2Excel. The Blue Eagles flew an immaculate display, as can be seen from the pictures below.

The opening break fills the sky….	….before the Lynx pedal turns in front of the crowd.

The Gazelles perform the first of three very close crosses!	The fore and back formation.

The Lynx pulls out of a loop.	The first Gazelle pair performed perfectly synchronised pedal turns….

….followed by the second pair, again, perfectly balanced.	The lead pair then take centre stage in dramatic style….

New to the UK circuit, the Blades from 2Excel flew a remarkable display.	Air display pilot Peter Teichman kindly showed Andrea and Blake around his very rare Spitfire Mk XI….

….before flying his own smooth and evocative display.	Scenes you weren’t supposed to see, Part one of probably many. Nikki from the UBAS and Tony swapped clothes having been bet by Typhoon pilot Matt Elliot that they wouldn’t! Some observers commented Tony had never looked better….
