The Goodwood Festival of Speed – 11th to 13th July 2003

Ah, Goodwood. You don’t really need to say anything else, it is a stunning event with something for everyone. The speed and power of racing cars historic and modern as the blast up the Goodwood track leaving a tint of blue in the air from tyre and exhaust alike. The beauty of immaculately restored historic vehicles of all kinds. The glamour and luxury of the classic saloons, but all of this is found just walking across the carpark! When you get into the display itself, you simply do not know which way to turn next, the now famous annual event is packed with interesting and exciting displays from every motor manufacturer, historic and current, imaginable. Into this arena on an overcast but warm summers day came the Blue Eagles to display close into the crowd on a display line only possible because of Goodwood’s unusual position on the top of a hill. As the team ran in, the crowd slowly came to a complete halt and all eyes turned skyward. The display was spot on, afterwards Kav reported that even though he could see people were leaving the show as the Team displayed late in the afternoon, as the display progressed, the exodus stopped, then reversed as people moved to get a better view. This weekend will be a busy one for the Team. As, if previous Goodwoods are anything to go by, there will be a wide range of interesting visitors a well as two more displays to do, so stay tuned for the latest news here!
