Blue Eagles Team Displays – The British Grand Prix at Silverstone – 13th, 14th and 15th July 2001

With the Team not displaying on the Sunday, a gentle start for a change meant that everyone was keyed up for the start of the race, which was watched from the comfort of the Grandstand courtesy of Events Management, to whom many thanks for the hospitality. Thanks must also be seriously expressed to Keith Williams and Peter Smith and all the other Spectator Marshalls who looked after the Team vehicles and allowed us to use one of their offices in dire emergency! An al fresco breakfast in the bright sun,the technicians enjoy the weather that stayed with us all day. Guest visitor from last year was Paul Travis, as Dom White was away celebrating his birthday, so Happy Birthday Dom!

Mika Hakkinen lead the race almost from the first, and won with ease

As soon as the race was over, the Team got the aircraft reloaded and ready to depart

But as can be seen here, there were a huge number of transport helicopters getting passengers out of the circuit....

....so many in fact, that dual parallel runway operation was the order of the day
