Flying in an Extra 300 with a champion-class pilot is a once-in-a-lifetime, unforgettable experience, making Firebird’s corporate flying days completely unique in the field of business hospitality. The company is in fact the smallest and most exclusive ‘airline’ in Europe, holding the only JAR OPS (joint European) Air Operator Certificate so far issued for aerobatic flights with passengers. The days are participational, with business guests, staff or competition winners sharing the life of the team for a day or a half-day. The action can start with a display, followed by a full briefing and then guest flying. This is one hospitality experience which no guest has had before – and one which is totally memorable. Each flight is different because each guest is different. Some rides are gentle whilst others – in fact the majority – delve into the realms of at least some world-class manoeuvres. The Extras are dual-control so the guests have a go, and more than 60% are ‘talked through’ looping and rolling themselves. Historically, Firebird’s guests have been about 60/40% men/women. Firebird can accommodate 10 flying guests per aircraft per day, and the days can be at almost any aerodrome. Looking at the aircraft Visitors Books, it is amazing how many ways the word ‘awesome’ can be used….
