The 2004 Team Displays – Biggin Hill – 18 & 19 September 2004

The Battle of Britain air show at the former RAF airfield of Biggin Hill in Kent is one of the UK’s premiere aviation events. Each year, several prestigious prizes are awarded for the best solo and team displays, the best team display receiving the Shell Trophy. This year, the engraved glass trophy went to the two Army Air Corps teams, the AHAF, and the Blue Eagles. For the first and only time this season the two teams flew together in a massed flypast, after which the AHAF broke off to display followed by the Blues. This is the first time a rotary winged team has won the Shell Trophy, making it a double first for the Army Air Corps. The award represents the culmination of an excellent season for the AHAF and recognition of the hard work put into the display by air and ground crew alike.
