The 2001 season has kicked off to a great start.

We have featured in articles in The Sun, The Times, Western Daily Press and the local newspaper for Middle Wallop – The Andover Advertiser.

All featured articles on the team and three carried photos of Eagle 4, Sgt Julie Wiles. The one featured in The Times will be one that she’ll be trying to live down all season – it shows her aged 2 sat in the cockpit of her Dad’s Sioux when he was on the team back in 1974. (Bids for copies of this exclusive photo should be addressed to the team at Middle Wallop. Highest bidder wins!!!!!!!)

Lynx Smoke – With luck we should have smoke back on the Lynx for the start of this season. Wallop Defense Systems (a subsidiary of Flight Refuelling Ltd ) have agreed to supply the necessary smoke flares to allow the trial of this system to be completed this spring. Watch out for the new smoke fit when the display season kicks off.

The necessary paperwork has been completed to permit the start of the team training on 1st March 2001(the day the team forms at Middle Wallop). So if you’re in the vicinity at about 0800-0830 or 1700-1730 daily, pull off the A343 into the Museum of Army Flying car park, relax and enjoy the free displays as the team start their training ready for the 2001 season.

Also, we welcome your comments on the revamped website. What do you think of the new logo? This logo will feature on all of the team’s merchandise for this year and the future. We will be introducing a huge new range of merchandise, all of excellent quality and reasonable price. This merchandise can be obtained at the team’s exhibition vehicle at display venues throughout the season as in previous years. Plus, brand new for 2001 we will introduce shortly a range of merchandise that will be available for you to buy here on the website.

Another major innovation for this year will be the formation of The Blue Eagles Club, for all you fans of the team. Full details can also be found on the website in due course. It will be worth waiting for, "Trust me. I’m a display pilot!!"
