The Blue Eagles 2004 are authorised to display! I say displays because the Team have devised four different displays; a full Team version which constitutes the Lynx and four Gazelles; a Gazelle pair display; a solo Lynx display and a solo Gazelle display. We believe that this will give themost flexibility to attend as many displays as possible during the season and it should allow for any unforeseen problems to any of the aircraft. The signing off took place a week after it had initially been planned due to one of those unforeseen circumstances, but we believe that we are now well placed to continue in the vein that spectators of the Blue Eagles have become accustomed to over the years – delivering an exciting and professional performance. At the end of the days procedures, the Director presented the coveted blue helmet to all six of proud aircrew who are now ready and enthusiastically looking forward to the Team’s first display at Normandy on 05 June in support of the 60th Anniversary of the D-Day Landings. 27 May 2004 Archived news is available by clicking here.
