Blue Eagles Team News for 2005

03 and 04 September at Biggin Hill International Airshow.

The Biggin Hill International Air Show is not only a prestigious event in the UK air show calendar, it also has a nostalgic atmosphere all its own as it is held on the former Battle of Britain airfield. Evidence of this is everywhere, the E-pens fighters were parked in still litter the outskirts of the airfield for example. This year the theme of the display was the end of the Second World War, so a great many famous warbirds took part in the show, including a scramble re-enactment by five Spitfires complete with sound effects and pyrotechnic explosions on the airfield! On both days the Blue Eagles flew in company with their colleagues in the Army Historic Aircraft Flight, the huge formation seeming to fit perfectly in the atmosphere of the day.

On the sunny and bright Friday Tim Callaway flew down with the Team with Al Rickers and captured the transit images below, then recorded the practice display that took place shortly afterwards.
