Blue Eagles Team Displays – Dawlish Seafront Air Display – 18th August 2004

Dawlish is a beautiful Devon seaside town located 8 miles due south of Exeter. Flying along the coast, the Team arrived to carry out a ‘smoke on’ fly past and display recce. Time prior to the display was spent with the aircraft carrying out publicity activity as well as an impromptu, inter-Eagle-go-kart race before taking the train for the 2 minute ride into Dawlish town centre to join the ground crew at the Exhibition vehicle. The weather for the flying displays was predominantly blue skies with the odd cloud to add real impact to all of the flying. The Blue Eagles finally displayed at 1600 hrs to close the Air Show, receiving extremely vocal support and compliments throughout the display! The return trip included a 2 minute detour to perform a ‘smoke on’ fly past at Eagle 5’s parents’ house immediately due north of Dawlish. All in all a very good event attracting some 20,000 public and with the organisers vowing to place the Blue Eagles top of their list for next year’s event!

More photographs will be available soon!
