Blue Eagles Team News for 2007

The Duxford Spring Air Show- 20 May 2007

The Team had recovered from the illness that affected the Abingdon show, and so flew their first full airshow display of the 2007 display season to a capacity crowd at the Duxford Spring Air Show. This was extremely well received as the new display is very powerful and dynamic, a development of the new style of display begun last year. The Team stand was on site as well, and did a roaring trade, especially in the numbers of people wanting to sit in the Gazelle cockpit and try it out for size. Laura joined the Duxford commentary team to give people an expert description of what they were seeing. The Team not only flew their full display, but also took part in a massed flypast of types at the end of the display to commemorate the fallen of the Falklands Campaign. The Duxofrd show fell on 20 May, exactly 25 years to the day that the first British troops landed on the Islands to reclaim them from the Argentinian invasion forces. Also included in the commemorative display were the Scout and Beaver from the Army Historic Aircraft Flight, both of which took part in the Falklands Campaign, alongside many other types. The flypast included a minutes silence, a fitting end to the air show.
