The Apache caught above the Blue Eagles banners on arrival.

The Team were invited to visit West McLaren Mercedes and were kindly shown around their Formula 1 car by members of the Technical and Engineering Team. Many thanks to Dermot Walsh for his and his team’s hospitality.

Sharon was in raptures being so close to David Coulthard’s car, as she is a great fan of McLaren, and DC in particular!

The West McLaren Mercedes stand also included one of the earlier cars driven by the great Nikki Lauda.

The Jaguar Formula One Team was also at Goodwood, along with many of the others.

The mighty Apache thrilled the crowd by landing in the centre of the arena to let the public get a good look at the latest in Army firepower.

Some of the racing classes at the Goodwood Festival included the single seat Ferraris….

….and the powerful American sports cars of the 1960’s and 70’s, such as this Dodge Charger and Ford Mustang.

Meanwhile, back at the display stand, Ray was doing a great selling job…..

….when suddenly, the Team had an impromtu Busby Berkley choreographed moment!

Annabel, Alex and Sharon were very busy making photo-certificates for those who wished to sit in the Gazelle….

….including young Tom, who’s Mum Lucinda was as delighted as he was.

The display began as the clouds lifted, right on schedule, as the Lynx passed backwards through the formating Gazelles.

Kav and Terry’s simultaneous bunts were absolutely spot on!

At the beginning of the heart manoeuvre, Julie and Bill’s Gazelles and Lynx get into very close proximity.

Then the Lynx came in for its solo part of the display, Ray’s rolls….

….perfect loops,….

….and awesome backflip really wowed the Goodwood crowd, causing many gasps and much applause.

The cross-over break was right on line and beautifully timed.

The Lynx bowed to the crowd to finish the display, and this shot shows the very unusual, and obstacle strewn, display line at Goodwood.

Visitors to the stand included Special Constable Helen Jones of the Sussex Police, who swapped roles with Annabel!

World famous recording artist and helicopter enthusiast Jamiroquai dropped in to the stand, and swept Annabel of her feet! Quite a busy day for her all things considered!

JK was also shown around the awesome Apache by Major Howard Floyd and Colin, and was quite at home in the cockpit.

Very special guests included three generations of the Julie Wiles’ family, including her Dad, Alan, another Army Air Corps pilot; Mum, Shiela, sister Alison and family; Richard and young Jamie; and of course Dangerous Brian on the left, the world-famous cameraman.

Back at the hotel, a wedding was in full swing, and Ray volunteered to act as the ‘something blue’ for beautiful bride Kelly Young.
