Looking Ahead

As the season ends, planning for the 1998 season begins and a new team for it have to be formed. There are several vacancies and the competition for them is hot! The vacancies occur as team members move on or are posted away from Middle Wallop.

The 1997 Blue Eagles

Major John Davis is now based in Germany and very shortly, once it gets a lot colder, will put his Arctic flying experience to good use in Bosnia!

Capt Steg Williams the team lead is leaving the Army shortly and is available to marry the daughter of the chief pilot of British Airways in order to get the job he wants.

Sgt Andrew Wood is also about to leave the Army and is prepared to marry British Airways chief pilot’s mother to put his ATPL(A) IR & ATPL(H) to good use!

Sgt Beaker Williams is moving on posting

Air Trooper Malcolm Otty is being trained as a Lynx door gunner and is shortly posted.

Air Trooper Corrina Bates is now based in Dishforth in N. Yorkshire.

Each of them brought their skill and gave 100% comittment to the team. Thanks, one and all.

Another success of the 1997 season was the support and encouragement we received from our sponsors without whom there would not be a Blue Eagles helicopter display team. Our thanks to:

Competitions. During 1998 we shall be running several competitions with a variety of excellent prizes.

Souvenirs A variety of Blue Eagles souvenirs will shortly be available for mail order.
