Blue Eagles Team News for 2005

30 and 31 July at the End of the War Airshow. Sandown, Isle of Wight

Saturday 30 July was the first day of the End of the War Airshow held at Sandown airfield on the beautiful Isle of Wight. The show, held on the small grass airstrip on the eastern side of the island took place in bright but very windy conditions. The show’s relaxed atmosphere was in stark contrast to the heavy metal of the previous two days at Lowestoft. The airshow attracted a whole host of warbirds and vintage aircraft. The Blues flew on both days returning to Middle Wallop on Saturday night for the Music in the Air concert and air display.

Saturday’s display was held in an incredibly strong wind which though just within limits tested all of the team’s flying skills to the max. Sunday saw much gentler conditions and again the team put on a very polished performance.
