Blue Eagles Team News for 2006

The Lowestoft Seafront Air Festival and Weston Super Helidays – amongst others – 26 to 29 July 2006

Or, the long weekend, part four!

The Weston Super Helidays display is an unusual one, combining a trade show of the latest in rotary winged technology with a public display of a wide variety of helicopters. The display begins on the Wednesday with the Weston Air Display, then continues with the specialist helicopter show on the Thursday through to the Sunday. This attracts a great variety of helicopters from all over the UK and Europe, both historic and very modern. During this show, the Team also flew at the Royal National Lifeboat Institute’s annual display at Lyme Regis, and at the Music in the Air Display at their home base of Middle Wallop. This finally brought to an end an extremely intense five day period for the Team, during which they flew their now usual impressive and accurate display in front of seven different audiences, over three quarters of a million people! This years display routine has captured the imagination of audiences, as it combines old favorites with a whole new dynamic and brand new manoeuvres for both the Lynx and Gazelles.

The display was up sun, unfortunately for Keith Draycott the photographer! It was one of the best displays he had ever seen, as evinced by Tony and Mark's cross.
