RNAS Yeovilton Air Display, Somerset – Saturday 15 June

Cor! Sunshine! Lovely fluffy cu-nim at about 2,000 feet. Can’t be an air display today can there? Yes, and the Team flew an absolute corker of a display in front of a huge crowd! Smashing! This is what the summer was invented for!
The C-5A Galaxy from Westover Air Force Base Massachusetts, the largest transport aircraft in the world asked for a mention of their static display at Yeovilton, and who are we to deny them!


WHIH part one!

The new display contains some extreme manouevres, including the three Gazelle solo Lynx break, just after the Lynx has flown through the three ship!

Smooth and tight

Excellent conditions meant smooth, tight formations were the order of the day.

The stand did roaring trade

The stand did its usual roaring trade in Blue Eagles souvenirs.

A very VIP visitor!

A very very VIP visitor to the stand, Tim Grey’s Mum!

Unusual part 1 - the B-52.

Several unusual visitors to the show included the B-52….

Unusual part 2 - the Merlin, Lynx and Swordfish formation

….and the formation of Lynx, Merlin and the superb Swordfish.
