The 2005 Team Displays – Royal International Air Tattoo – 16 & 17 July 2005.

Sunday 17 July 2005.

The Royal International Air Tattoo on the SUnday was one of those days where you are eternally grateful that someone decided to hold an air display that day. Bright blue skies and a hot sun were gentled by a cool breeze, conditions that seemed to bring out the best in everyone there. There was a huge crowd, many staking their claim to a front row seat as early as eight in the morning. The pilots of many nations all seemed to be vying to do their best on this perfect day, and all of the displays were met with enthusiastic applause from the rapt audience. The Teams from the Army Air Corps were no exception to this, the eleven-aircraft formation being the largest display at the show. The bright sunlight also made for a superb opportunity to photograph the aircraft of the Flight.

The Team begin each display with a section break, here the fixed wings break….	….then the rotary section break behind them, here the Scout moves to the centre.

The fixed wings then change formations….	….as the rotaries run in to take centre stage….

….and the whole Flight fills the sky….	….as the rotary-winged section begin the ‘aerial ballet’ sequence.

The ‘ballet’ includes some very close manouevring!	The fixed-wing section in vic. The light was just perfect for some individual shots too, as follows…..
