Shades of Blue: Band of the Royal Air Force College, Cranwell

Shades of Blue is a brand new CD from the Band of the Royal Air Force College, Cranwell. It features the first ever recording of Diamond Nine, a new march in tribute to the World’s most famous aerobatics display team, The Red Arrows, now stationed, of course, at RAF Cranwell.

Diamond Nine draws on the inspiration from the music Ron Goodwin’s 633 Squadron, and Eric Coates’ memorable Dambusters, in an attempt to capture the spirit of the Royal Air Force’s great flying tradition.

Also included on the CD are several other popular themes, including 633 Squadron and the Dambusters, and the band’s interpretation of songs by Wilson Pickett and Huey Lewis among others. There is even a piece inspired by the music from the hit West End Show, Riverdance.
