The transit flight from Lowestoft to Sandown, Isle of Wight.

Friday 29th July

Grant concentrates on holding formation during the transit from Lowestoft to Sandown….

….and then smiles for the camera while John takes control of the Gazelle.

While overflying RAF Mildenhall A C-5 Galaxy and C-130 Hercules could clearly be seen on the ramp.

As the team flew further south the weather started to improve allowing for a very artistic silouete shot of Al’s Gazelle

While passing Portsmouth dockyard, HMS Illlustious and HMS Victory were seen basking in the early evening sun….

…..as was the new Spinaker Tower.

Heading out over the Solent, leaving the mainland behind.

Passing Bembridge airport.

We’re number 2 on long finals for Sandown.

Many warbirds were already at Sandown when the Blues arrived.

Andy Rowlandson-Waite puts one of the Gazelles to bed!!
