Blue Eagles Team News for 20052 and 3 July at the International Air Show at RAF Waddington. The RAF Waddington International Air Show is one of the biggest air displays in the UK display calendar, attracting participants from all over the world. This year there were such exotic types as a Hungarian Air Force MiG 29 and a seven-ship team of Pilatus PC-7s from Switzerland. The Army Air Corps were there in force too, with the Blue Eagles and the Historic Aircraft Flight taking part in the flying display, and the ground crew manning the Team stand in the static park. The first day of the show was marred by a blustery wind and low broken cumulus which seemed to threaten rain all day, but still allowed the sun to break through often enough to keep the temperatures up. Despite the typically British summer the full display was flown to the delight of the huge crowd. All through the day the stand kept up roaring trade in posters and memorabilia, much to the delight of the many young Team fans who visited to talk to the Team members. All in all, day one of this terrific show must be considered a great success! Saturday 2 JulyArchived news is available by clicking here.
