Blue Eagles Team News for 2005

2 and 3 July at the International Air Show at RAF Waddington.

The day dawned bright and clear in Lincolnshire, with a gentle breeze promising a fine day for an air display. However, the day did indeed remain fine, but the wind steadily picked up to become the same gusty troublemaker as was present of Saturday! Blowing across the main runway at Waddington presented no problem to the myriad of fast jets and modern air display aircraft gathered at the huge RAF station, but to the slower moving helicopters and the light aircraft of the HAF the wind created a deal of problems. Derspite the changeable conditions, both Teams joined up again for their 11-ship flypast, and both flew excellent displays as the pictures below clearly state. Many observers commented that today, the Blue Eagles flew their best and most accurate display of the season thus far! Another good day at Waddington!

Sunday 3 July

Scenes from a day in the life of….. The poster signings always attract a queue!	Al Scott and the Team hard at work.
Dave Kane makes a Blue Eagles fan’s day.	The display began with a kite formation flypast….
….followed by the aircraft of the HAF in immaculate echelon.	Blades flashing silver, a Gazelle in an Elphinstone loop.
A Gazelle caught at the vertical of a pedal turn.	Keith was on the far side of the airfield, and the Team ran out on the B-axis right over his head.
Neil and Dave lead the two Al’s backwards! (Eh?)	The formation work today was absolutely immaculate.
The finale looked stunning in the bright light.	Neil and Dave head on in a perfect loop!
